Legal Materials

The formats of legal materials are prescribed by the legal community. The formats remain unchanged in the end reference section regardless of the system used (C-S or C-N or N-Y). Do not change the sequence of the date of publication for a legal material, if you are using N-Y system. An item published in Federal Register should be cited the same way as a standard journal article. Abbreviate the title of publication to Fed Regist.

Examples: Clean Air Act. 42 U.S.C. Sect 7401 et seq.(1970).

Animal and animal products, 9 C.F.R. Sect. 319.15 (2003)
