Find and Request an Item

Search for books and other materials in the Library catalog using OneSearch. If the book you need is not available, you can also search the ConnectNY shared catalog and place requests for books that the AU Libraries do not own or that are checked out. If the book you want is not in OneSearch or ConnectNY, you can request it through Interlibrary Borrowing.

Finding Books in OneSearch

Search for print books and eBooks in the AU Libraries' collection using OneSearch on the Libraries' homepage. Enter your search terms for subject, title or author into the OneSearch search box and all content that the Libraries have access to will be searched.

Search by subject keyword(s):

By author or title:

If you are searching for a  phrase, put it in quotation marks to search the phrase exactly.

For more search options, you can select Advanced Search, located under the search box on the right-hand side, to find more ways to refine and limit your search:

In the Advanced Search screen there are multiple lines for search terms. You can also limit your search to a particular field, such as title or author, or to a particular material type, such as books or journal articles. You can limit by publication date or streaming media or search for course reserves. You can search though everything the Libraries have access to (which is the default selection) or you can limit your search to the library catalog only.
