Expert: having, involving, or displaying special skill or knowledge derived from training or experience

Credible experts:

  • Usually affiliated with a reputable organization, university, research institute, government entity, etc.
  • Have authored works that have been characterized or identified as authoritative in a field, by multiple reputable sources
  • Have been characterized or identified as an authority in their field, by multiple reputable sources
  • Could be considered an authority by virtue of their position (e.g., in a government agency)
