Adelphi Libraries provide access to online resources including ebooks, journals, streaming media, databases, and more. While some resources are "Open Access" and available to all without restriction, many are provided via subscriptions or licenses obtained by the Libraries.
⚠️ To make sure you are getting access to everything you are entitled to as a member of the Adelphi community, make sure you are signed into OneSearch when searching for materials for your research.
If an item is available in online format, you will find its location and availability in the View Online section. There may be more than one option, as works are often held in multiple vendor collections. You may also find quick links near the top of the record to download a PDF or view a journal's contents directly, depending on where and how the item is hosted.
Note that some journals and other resources may be only partially available; for example, many journals embargo the most recent issue(s). These "coverage" details should appear near the links to the resources.
Additionally, many articles and other items will have "quick links" at the top of the page near the title. These let you get to the content directly. A Download PDF link will open the article ready to read or save for later. A View Issue Contents link will show you the table of contents of the journal issue in Browzine, a simple-to-use interface for browsing and viewing journals available at Adelphi.
If you are unable to get to the desired article, book, or other resource via the links provided, you may report the issue to the Library using the Report a Problem link found on every OneSearch record page.
Adelphi Libraries work with a very large number of providers and platforms with a wide variety of authentication and access models. To manage this, the Libraries use a "proxy service" to provide seamless access to these diverse systems. Nevertheless, issues may arise with access. Here are a few tips to help address problems you may encounter:
Library faculty and staff are available by chat, phone, email, or in person to help with research questions.
Go to Ask a Librarian (available from the top of any OneSearch page), where you can get help about your account, find guides and FAQs on specific topics, and contact a librarian with expertise in your subject area to meet online or in person. You can also drop by Swirbul’s 1st floor Service Point.
