The Adelphi University Libraries has adopted a course reserve policy effective January 2023
The Libraries support instruction by purchasing books and other materials for course reserves as funds permit. As funds are limited and must serve the whole university, we ask that you limit new acquisition requests to no more than two items (not in excess of $600 total) per course per semester. New acquisitions should be primary (not optional) course texts. Please note that many textbooks are not available for institutional licensing as ebooks and cannot be purchased by the Libraries.
Please also provide sufficient time for processing of the reserve requests: at least 2 weeks for a small number of items, and 4 weeks for larger requests. If there are specific circumstances please reach out to us at userservices@adelphi.edu
The Libraries encourage instructors to consider Open Education Resources (OER) as free alternates to licensed textbooks and other instructional materials.
