Welcome to the Children's Books by African American Authors research guide! In this guide you will find a selection of fiction and nonfiction books written by African American authors, as well as some biographies and memoirs of notable African American authors, and reference resources for researching African Americans children's literature. This is not a comprehensive listing of everything in the collection.

The Children's books are generally located in the Juvenile Collection and the Curriculum Materials Center of the Swirbul Library on Level 5S, as well as in the New York City–Brooklyn Center Library.
