Databases have many options that can help refine your search. Most database searches can be limited by several variables including:
- Publication Date
- Scholarly (Peer Reviewed)
- Full Text
- Document Type
- Publication Type
Understanding what limiters are and how to limit your search can help you retrieve focused and relevant results. Limiters can help you find the exact results you need quickly! In a basic or simple search screen, the options for limiting your search will most likely be on the left or right side of your results screen. If you don't see them there, look for an Advanced Search option when you create your search (see red box below).
