Interlibrary Borrowing

A free service provided by the User Services department of Adelphi University to the Adelphi community. It is used to borrow materials that are not owned by Adelphi University Libraries. There is no charge.

How Can I Check The Status Of My Request?

Log in to your Interlibrary Borrowing account and click on “Outstanding Requests” under the View category in the left navigation menu.

Awaiting Request Processing Your request was submitted.  Our staff will be starting the process of validating your request.
Request in Processing Our staff is in the process of validating your request.
Request submitted to
 Lending Libraries
Our staff is in the process to try to locate potential lenders.
Request Sent The Request has been sent to the potential lending libraries and Interlibrary Borrowing is waiting for the response
Customer Notified by Email The item has arrived and an email notification has been sent to you that your item is ready for pick up
Customer Notified by Phone This is for students who don’t attend the Garden City campus. The item has arrived, and the customer has been notified via phone. Your book has been sent to your Adelphi library. You will be notified by the resident librarian when it is ready to pick up
Delivered to Web The article has been electronically delivered to your ILLiad account. Login and under click on ‘Electronically Received Articles’ under the View category in the left navigation menu. You can open the article with Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Request Finished The entire loan process for your item has been completed:
     -Book is returned to the lending library.
     -Article sent to you via email.
