When can I expect my item to arrive?

Books can sometimes take up to two to three weeks to arrive to the Swirbul Library. It can then take another several days to arrive to Adelphi campuses outside of Garden City.

Book chapters and articles are usually received and delivered within the week. However, some libraries have a standard processing time of four to twenty days, so it could take much longer for you to receive your book chapter or article.

Loan Periods

Borrowed materials are typically loaned for 4 weeks, with a possibility to renew them for an additional 2 weeks. Renewal decisions are at the discretion of the lending library.

How much does this cost?

There is no cost to use this service but fines do apply for overdue returns.

Where can I pick up my item?

You can pick up your item at the Service Point Desk at either Swirbul Library in Garden City or the User Services Dest at New York City–Brooklyn Center.

You must show your Adelphi ID in order to receive the item.

What software are you using for Interlibrary Borrowing?

Interlibrary Borrowing uses ILLiad (Interlibrary Loan Internet Accessible Database) Resource Sharing Management software, created by Atlas Systems in conjunction with OCLC.
