Find Books at Adelphi University Libraries

There are over 600,000 volumes in the Adelphi University Libraries collection. The AU Libraries have locations in Garden City, New York City*, Hauppauge, and Hudson Valley. Adelphi students, faculty and staff can use any of our libraries (Hudson Valley items do not circulate to the other centers).

*Please note: For the 2023-2024 academic year, Adelphi’s New York City–Brooklyn Center programs and library will be located in Brooklyn at St. Francis College’s Livingston Street campus.

Books at Hudson Valley Center Library

The Hudson Valley Library is well stocked with books in the subject areas taught at the Center. We also offer popular reading titles, many with social work themes. If you need books from our other locations, it is easy to request them to be sent to you. 

Request Books and Other Library Materials

To request an item from the Garden City campus, Hauppauge or New York City–Brooklyn Centers:

• Find and Request an Item Search for an item in OneSearch then select Request in the Get It section of the catalog record. Choose Hauppauge as your pickup location.
• Home Delivery If you would like the item to be delivered to your home, n the Get It section choose Home Address as your pickup location. In the Comments section, request home delivery and include your address and we will send it to you via UPS. Contact User Services for a free return UPS label.
• Partial Digitization The AU Libraries will digitize up to ten percent or two chapters of a book from the library catalog and email it to you upon request.
• Interlibrary Borrowing Interlibrary Borrowing can be utilized by current Adelphi students, administrators, faculty and staff to request books and journal articles not available through Adelphi or ConnectNY. Log into Interlibrary Borrowing
• Borrow, Renew, Return Policies for students borrowing materials from Adelphi Libraries.

Adelphi University Libraries offer an extensive collection of ebooks.

Ebooks can be found within our OneSearch and through eBook Central on our database page.

We also have a large collection of eReference books, Use eReference books for background information, to learn about a topic and explore ideas when looking for a topic.
