How do I request resources for purchase?

The Request for Library Resources form helps you request library resources for purchase, including books/ebooks, streaming media, etc. The tool leads you through a series of questions, links you to the appropriate forms, and provides guidance depending on your needs.

Suggest an Item for Purchase
Visit this page to learn how to ask the Libraries to purchase materials for the collection or to place on reserve. Adelphi Libraries welcome recommendations for materials that support the curriculum, research, and instruction.

Request Course Materials

You can request the library purchase items that support specific courses.

*Please note the library does not automatically purchase materials requested for courses. Your request will be shared with a librarian for purchase approval, and approval is dependent on the library budget.

Reading Lists for Courses
Assemble materials of all types—physical books, ebooks, digitized book chapters, scholarly articles, videos, newspaper articles, websites, and any other type of material to create a structured, comprehensive list of readings for your course. Reading Lists connect to Moodle and Adelphi University Libraries’ OneSearch, making it simple for students to access all of the materials you’ve selected. Course Reserve Request Form (assisted model)
This is the direct link to the "assisted model" course reserve request form. Faculty must be teaching a course in order to use this form. If you need additional assistance, please email UserServices@adelphi.edu.

The Libraries subscribe to many excellent resources that are available to the whole AU community. Please consider assigning library-subscribed or -purchased articles, books, chapters, videos, and more in your courses.

Contact your subject librarian if you want to suggest the Libraries purchase a resource for its permanent collecition. We will do our best to purchase materials to support your curriculum and research, budget permitting.
