Find and Request An Item

A comprehensive guide for the 3 quick and easy ways to find and request an item.

Welcome

Looking for a BOOK, a DVD, an ARTICLE, or a JOURNAL?

The library offers a variety of services to help you find books, articles, journals, and other items you may need. You can also find your article when all you have is the citation or part of it (article title, author, and/or journal name). Citation Lookup searches all of Adelphi University Libraries’ vast collection of online journals for access to full text. Below are 3 quick and easy ways to request an item:

If you are looking to find or request a BOOK or DVD, please start with STEP 1.

If you are looking to find or request an ARTICLE, please start with STEP 3.

If you are looking to find a specific JOURNAL, please use the Journal Titles tab on the library homepage.

STEP 1: Adelphi Collection

Search our library catalog (Alicat and/or OneSearch).

Materials in Garden City, Manhattan or Hauppauge are requestable via My Library Account

Please note: Items in Hudson Valley Center are not requestable.

If your search of our collection came back unsuccessful, please proceed to STEP 2ConnectNY.

STEP 2: ConnectNY

Search the ConnectNY catalog or click the logo Search CONNECT NY Union Catalog to see if the item is available.

If available, click "Request This Item" and follow the prompts.

If you still have not found what you are looking for, please proceed to STEP 3: Interlibrary Borrowing.

STEP 3: Interlibrary Borrowing

Please fill out the Interlibrary Borrowing form and we will request the item from another library.

Please note: You will need to provide the citation information of the material you are looking for (ex. Title, Author, Year, ISSN/ISBN #, Pages etc.)

You will be notified via email when your request is available. Articles will be emailed in PDF format.

All requests are subject to availability.
