Reading an Item Record

The following record has been retrieved by searching two terms Darwin and Evolution in Advanced Search mode. It provides the bibliographic information (i.e., Title, Author(s), the Year of Publication and the Publisher) along with the subjects covered in the book.

The “Holding” tab (marked as 1) provides the names of the academic libraries where the book is available for borrowing through ConnectNY service. The physical description including ISBN can be found by clicking the “Description” tab (marked as 2). The “Table of Contents” tab (denoted as 3) indicates the contents inside the book. The “Staff View” tab (marked as 4) is provided for library staff use.

The “Cite this” tab on the top (marked as 5) shows how to cite this book following APA, MLA and Chicago styles with a caveat, “these citations may not always be 100% accurate.”

The “Export Record” tab (marked as 6) shows what citation management tools can be used to save the citation for the Bibliography/ Reference purpose. The user can create a list to add the book with annotation for future reference  using the “Save to List” tab (marked as 7) in the record.
