How does the Library support printing for students, and is there a charge for this service?
Adelphi is a “green campus” dedicated to environmentally friendly programs. In an effort to reduce paper use, the University established a printing policy. When you print you will have a box that pops up asking for your username and password, and indicating the status of your printing account (400 copies a semester). Five (¢5) cents is deducted for every black and white page printed. Keep in mind that double-sided printing equals to two (2) printed pages so you will be charged ten (¢10) cents for each sheet of paper that has printed material on both sides.
What about color printing?
Students have access to color printing in Swirbul library ("Color Printer 1" or "Color Printer 2"). However, the cost is more and you are notified before you print, currently at seventy-five (¢75) cents a copy.
What about microform readers & printing?
The second floor has 2 Microform readers with printers attached.
Do you offer mobile printing?
Swirbul Library has printers in its labs, on the first floor and second floor, that users can use your own computer or mobile device to submit print jobs. For more information about mobile printing and locations of compatible printers, check the Mobile Printing page in the Information Technology Service Catalog.
Students may use the scanners at no charge. You can save to a flashdrive or to your Google Drive account.
Scanners may be found in Swirbul Library in three locations:
