AU Library Home Page

AU Library services and resources can be accessed from the Library Home Page. Library services can be found under the Students menu bar. If you put your cursor over the Students menu bar, you can find the library's Borrow, Return, Renew rules, reserve a Collaboration Studio, get an article or book that is not in the AU Library collection via Interlibrary Loan (ILL), and ConnectNY, access materials your professor has included in their Course Reserves, find short guides to APA Style and more.

AU Library resources can be accessed from the multiple tab search box in the middle of the Library homepage:

The default choice is Books, Videos, etc. By typing keywords into this search box (e.g. APA style), you will search Alicat/AlicatPLUS, the library catalog for books, videos and more. All library resources on the homepage can also be accessed at home by using your Adelphi login and password.

The next tab is Articles/Databases. Here you can search for journal articles in databases. For more information click on the Articles/Databases tab, at the top of this guide.

Use the Journal Titles tab to search individual journals (e.g. Journal of Nursing Education). Two examples of reasons to search an individual Journal Title:

  • your professor has suggested you find articles within this journal
  • you've found a particular article within the References/Bibliography of a relevant article and you want to locate this article.

Under Guides/Tutorials you will find AU Library guides (e.g. this N206 guide). There are other guides you may also find helpful such as the "Nursing Research and Resources" general guide and "Literature Review in Education and the Behavior Sciences," a tutorial on how to write a literature review. To find a guide on a specific topic, click on the Guides/Tutorials tab, type a topic such as "nursing" or "literature review" into the search box, and click on Search.
